I applied to University of Michigan in late December and I consider it a match/high match.
My school’s semester ends late January, so our midyear grades get sent out later than other schools. A week ago, my counselor told me that UMich emailed her asked for my midyear grades ONLY. Not anyone else who applied, only mine… (This was before anyone’s grades were sent out).

What the heck does this mean? I’m afraid that I’m borderline for some reason and my midyear grades are the deciding factor. But then again, why didn’t UMich ask for any other applicant’s grades?

If your grades are good, then don’t worry about it. How are your grades/classes? It could mean you are borderline…or not! Sorry! NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!
:)

Well I have a 3.82 UW/ 4.62 W GPA, 2190 SAT/ 33 ACT, and good extracurriculars. The problem is my midyear grades weren’t as great as I’d like them to be.

I didn’t think I was borderline before my counselor told me about this, but now I don’t know D:

Hmm…that is strange because your GPA/Tests are really great! Maybe there trying to get you admitted a bit faster so they want your MDYR report early? Optimism!

Yeah hopefully those grades were not that impactful. Thanks!
