What does this 'No Aid Given' Letter

I keep seeing this around and I have no idea what this means. I applied to USC this year, but have yet to receive a letter… What does this mean and what does the letter mean?

Thanks

Edit: And i did not request aid. Thanks again.

Likely the letter you are referring to is that the person will not be given MERIT presidential (1/2 tuition) or trustee (full tuition). I don’t believe other award letters have been sent by USC.

it’s for those applicats that sent in their applications by december 1st [aka the deadline to be considered for scholarships], but are no longer in the running. i got one about a month & a half ago.

HImom is right, the letter should be stating that the you are not in the running for the two big scholarships (trustees and presidential), but I remember mine also states that you might be consider for smaller (merit) scholarship provided by USC

Okay, thank you!

By the way, this letter does NOT affect FAid. Also, you still can get a NMF Presidential 1/2 tuition scholarship and other merit aid, just not the 1/2 tuition regular presidential or full tuition trustee. Some of the FAid and other merit awards are quite generous as well.

My son got that letter also, a few weeks ago. It doesn’t mean you are not being considered for acceptance, right? It just means that you are not being considered for the scholarships??

^correctttt.
