One of my supplemental essays for a college’s honors program has a prompt I don’t understand
"Please describe how academic engagement has played a role in your life in high school. " The prompt would be much clearer and easier to write about if I knew what they mean by “academic engagement”. Can anyone help me out?
If you google the term you will get an excellent description of the concept.
Sure, it means how involved you are in the educational process.
Do you actually have an interest in the subjects and do you participate avidly with your best work efforts, including doing the homework?
Getting along with teachers and being able to cooperate with other students are also important factors for good academic engagement.
The flip side is selecting classes that are easy or will make you look good, doing the minimum necessary and not participating in or even skipping class.
