What does TOEFL stand for?

<p>Just kidding, I know what it stands for.
My real question is, do I have to take it?
I go to an international school in China and I have a US passport only. Some of my friends here said that I have to take it because I've spent all my high school years here (I'm a senior), because I've been out of the states for "too long."</p>

<p>It doesn't make sense. They said a caucasian would have to take it too in my position (I'm asian).</p>

<p>If you are a U.S citizen and the language of instruction in your school is English, I don't think you have to take it. You should check it though with the admissions offices of the colleges you are applying to.</p>
