international wire transfe payment is what i’m talking about…
as far as i know, the 24181 dollars cover fall tuition fee and insurance coverage,
but does it also include anything else like housing , media fee, activity fee,
port authority and everything listed on SIO “Accounts” section?
If not, does cmu tell me when and how to pay for such things?

I should think it does, just add up everything that is there (tuition is like 17k a semester and housing is like 2-3k so that other stuff should be in your total but double check).

My total came to like 23900 so I think you’re fine. Your balance is what you owe so if it says $0 I think you are in the clear.

i have the same question bugging me for weeks…the figure of $24,181 includes everything that’s mentioned in my SIO but APART from that it is also supposed to cover up for things like “Books & Supplies” (about 470 per semester) and “Personal & Misc Expenses” (about 650 per semester)…right now i have a negative balance in my SIO…

yeah, me too! i also have negative balance…
i really don’t like the negative sign there…!!!
so, spetsnaz op, do you think that i won’t have to pay more?

actually the negative sign here means that our deposited funds (credits) are in excess of the total charges…so the end balance is the actual amount of our money left…

If you pay too much, they give you a refund check, but you might not get it in time to buy books with it.

thats not a problem as long as we actually recieve the refund cheque!

just now i called the Hub, and they gave me three options to deal with it.
- get a check
- get a e-refund.
- put it in PlaidCash to buy textbooks.

What do you think is the best option?
I want to get a refund, but I’ll need to open an account when I
arrive on the States… I don’t have any US account…
Well, if I choose to put that money in PlaidCash, can I use the money
permanently till I graduate? 'Cause I think I read something that
money left in the PlaidCash gets gone after, like, one semester…

Not PlaidCash, you don’t want to buy textbooks from them (overpriced). I think PlaidCash rolls over, but I’m not sure. It’s not hard to open a US bank account during orientation- people from the banks are standing around, waiting to sign up people.

thanx for the info versatile!..i think i’ll too get it transferred to my bank account which i’ll make during orientation…

thanks, krazykow, i’ll open an account during orientation…
haha no problem, dexter :)

um… i visited e-refund website, and it said that transit routing number
is required… what is that number?

bank account number
