tawo, Purdue is a top ranked University for engineering.

I used to have an Oasis link on my page but it went away since I was last updated on 2/12…funny that people are just getting the link now

is the oasis link only for those who applied for financial aid?
at least thats what i thought…

No update or mail today for D. The tension grows. Congrats to those who had a change in status today. Let’s hope the mailboxes are stuffed tomorrow.

This thread has had 88,000 + views…that’s amazing!!!

The amount of energy and interest on the CC USC subforum is amazing. My S is applying to a 12 other colleges in the CC Top colleges and LAC’s, and the combination of all their posts are about 1/3 of that on USC. I just checked all of them, and there was nothing going on after last checking 6 hours ago. Whilst I checked, there was 8 more posts on the USC Subforum.

This must be some grand strategy by USC. There is the status page, and the trickling of acceptances, and the use of postal mail, and the unknown ultimate decision date, all of which gives plenty of fodder for speculation. The other colleges are blank walls. There is nothing to discuss until the email or web posting, and that’s it. Maybe the Adcoms have worked it to keep us all atwitter.

What’s more, is that there is an energy to USC not seen at other colleges of similar or greater selectivity. Applicants really want to be Trojans. USC may start out as just a college on the list, but it ends up being an obsession.

This thread is the biggest with the most number of pages.

btbam: i know that Purdue is a top ranked university for engineering, but that says nothing about selectivity…

does anybody feel like they are applying with the lowest GPA out of anywhere here, but still think they have a chance?

my status page was stuck to “last update in Dec/2008”. I called the fin aid about some paper work yesterday and casually asked about when I will get the decision. He put me on hold and then said I will get the letter next week. A few hours later my status changed to “last update on 3/18”. I know the status update may not mean much. But will I get a rejection next week? Or, is an acceptance more likely?

oh yeah and i just think that everyone should know that i called admissions today to ask them something about my application and at the end of the conversation i said “So ALL decisions will be sent by April first?” to which the admissions counselor replied “Yes”. This implies both acceptances and rejections, so I’m thinking that this year everyone will know their decision by the first!

Err, no.

They are behind schedule this year. When nagooya called the adcom office, they said that they will continue to send decisions well into April. USC hasn’t even sent out MOST of the admits yet.

Keep your hopes up!!

I got a status update today…wahoo.

3.1, applying for production.

3.02…well thats what it was when i applied…now its 3.11, which means nothing for them. the only thing that may save me is my SAT’s and an interesting personal story i told in my essay and in the section where you could write anything that you feel is important that you couldnt fit anywhere else in your app.

I have a 3.63 which I think is relatively low.
My SAT is 1950, also low.

I’m hoping everything else makes up for it!

i know this is a random place to ask…

but is leventhal part of marshall or is it an entirely different school?
im only asking here cuzz it has the most people viewing it and replying

3.51 uw gpa, barely a 1960 superscored sat, but thankfully I have a 31 act
