<p>For me it’s living in peace without any debts. It’s a really bad feeling when you really need something but can’t buy it, im sick of it. And one thing that I think is funny how there are people who work after high school and live the same life for the rest of their lives, while others stay in school and enjoy the rest of their lives. Honestly I think that it is much easier to work hard in school and live good rather than work hard for money for the rest of your life…But many people think otherwise, It’s too good of an opportunity to pass by.</p>

<p>This is hilariously petty, but partly the thought that if my nightmare ex made it into Cal, I definitely can too.</p>

<p>I was actually thinking alot about this question the other day; why do well and why even bother to go to college (because its not for everyone).<br>
I came to my own conclusion that you don’t go to college for anyone but yourself; don’t go to impress anyone or to prove your better.<br>
I’m going so I can better live my life the way i see ideolgically fit. Now personal for me, that just means making life easier and weaving out all the unnatural and stressful things, living like the ‘cork in the stream’.</p>
<p>I don’t want to live in a van down by the river. That is why I try to get good grades.</p>

<p>Yes, it is a smart thing to do to a certain extent, but don’t let it overtake your life. Those people you are talking about who never go to college can be some of the happiest people on the planet. </p>
<p>For me personally, I do well in school because I just don’t see the point in doing anything unless it is done well. But I really don’t care about it that much. I have nothing better to do at this point in my life - I am sure as hell not going to college so I can sit in an office all day. I am taking what I can from it, and I always keep in mind that real learning comes from life experience, not from some crackpot professor who doesn’t give a **** about his hundreds of undergrad students. If I get a chance to tour with one of the several bands I am in then I would drop out of school without giving it a second thought. It would be the only time in my life where an opportunity like that would come along.</p>
<p>I imagine the evil me living in a parallel universe with a goatee. He’s just as smart as I am, and driven too. I have to believe that because I’m good, though, because I can love and work together with others for the benefit of this world I will ultimately have a better life than him.</p>

<p>honestly, i’m in school because my parents are paying for my rent and school fees. it’s either that or get a side-job somewhere, and even though i have a career outside of school, my parents have always told me to get my undergrad degree. they want me to study whatever I want to study, and grad school isn’t practical for me now, but they just want me to get a degree in something. so it’s more to keep my end of the deal with my parents while pursuing my career and my dreams.</p>

<p>b1gmuff, I’ll have to disagree with you. Most everyone that did not go to college hate their lives, and if they don’t I hate it for them, I can’t stand the thought of partying all night and drinking and smoking (sorry, but I see people like that, mainly because the people around me are like that). Those are the people that have to work 6 days a week to make maybe 11 bucks an hour, not worth it. Think of it, someone who went to school can make $$$ in a month that would take the other 4 years. Also, I do feel that money is happiness to some extent, but agree that you should not let it over take your life.</p>
