Like the title implies; what else can I do to make a smooth transfer to a UC school?

Apart from extra-curriculars and job experience, should I do something else to amplify my chances of getting into a certain UC school, preferably UCSD?

Do other schools compete for me if I apply for more than one UC school? (ex. UCLA wants me because I applied for UCSD, etc…) ?

Thanks College Confidential!

Sorry to type out three replies of myself but… I just found out that it doesn’t matter if you write a good personal statement or have alot of extra curricular activities if you’re in the TAG program or University Link. I lost the link but it was on this website, stating that they only look at your GPA and requirements, but don’t bother with everything else and put it on the side without even looking.

Is this true?
