I am a junior. I am looking at colleges over spring break and was wondering what schools would be a fit for what I am looking for.

I am looking for a school that:

I can be challenged at in a collaborative spirit
I can join a student lead/ organized engineering project
Has an intense focus on service
Fosters involvement within the school and surrounding community

In terms of majors:

I am looking at BME, ME, physics, applied math, chemistry
I would also like the school to have a strong undergraduate business program that focuses on entrepreneurship

Most of all, I really want a sense of community. I visited MIT last summer and feeling that the school was brilliant but lacked a sense of community, just from the general vibe of the campus, along with the information tour. The whole focus on “hacking” and the resulting lack of attention to living on campus alienated me a little bit.

What’s your general opinion on this? What engineering school would recommend for a sense of community with a strong program.
