We often have music playing in the background even when home alone.
When we have guests, it depends on the circumstances. I tend to play jazz, Spanish guitar or classic Gaelic for more formal occasions. 80s/90s for casual adult gatherings (my own playlist or a Spotify station). When alone, it could be anything… Indie, top 40, EDM, occasionally country…)
I’m currently into Phoebe Bridgers Radio or Boygenius Radio when I’m alone.
I usually listen to WBGO, an NPR jazz station in Newark, NJ. I am a paying member but of course as with all NPR broadcasts, payment is optional.
My favorite programs are
weekdays
Daybreak (8am-noon)
Favorite Things (noon-4pm)
Drive Time (4-8pm)
(note that from 8pm to 8am, it’s music without a host)
Singers Unlimited 8-10 (Sat and Sun)
Saturday Evening Jazz (6-10pm)
Lights Out Weekend (10pm-3am Sat to Sun)
Everything is archived so it’s pretty easy to go past the promos but the archives can be difficult to access.
I like silence at home, so nothing plays through our house. We have Sirius in our cars. I listen mostly to MSNBC, Doctor Radio, Broadway channels. H has 70s, 60s, Bridge, some sports.
H likes to listen to music. If he’s alone, he plays it through his phone; if anyone else home, he listens through headphones.
When my H leaves the house and I’m home alone and not working I will put a playlist on through the tv and I love playing it loud and if you peek in the windows you will likely find me dancing!
