What exactly does "briefly" mean.

<p>Okay so this is just one example of what I hate about college admissions. I am apply for scholarships to my first choice school (which i got into :D), and the application says “briefly discuss…” I hate how vague stuff is. Shouldn’t it just say, “discuss in under 500 words” or something? My opinion of a brief essay could be entirely different than someone else’s. (#$&(!*#$!)#$</p>
