What factors influence admission into graduate programs?

I am a senior in high-school, and I am definitely going for some sort of degree in computer science.

Although I doubt I will go for a masters/or doctorate I figure it is a good idea to at least consider it when looking through schools. For example UT Austins undergraduate CS program did not really impress me, while there graduate program certainly did.

I am just wondering if bachelors from some schools transfer better then others? And if they do transfer no-matter what does it influence your graduate admissions?

I am wondering this mostly because one school that has won my heart is “DigiPen” which is a small game development school, that is more like a conservatory then a college in many ways. However because it is small I am worrying that it might not transfer well, or otherwise impede future progress. If I got a bachelors degree in CS there would it transfer well to schools like UT Austin, or if im being ambitions the likes of MIT/other ivy league schools?

The following attributes of DigiPen may cause it to be viewed unfavorably by some people:

  • No regional accreditation.
  • For profit.
