<p>I’m thinking of applying for history, art history or classics and the top schools require writing sample. In what format should it be. Should I use gibbon style and structure a massive footnotes to demonstrate my research capacity, or just turn in something I’ve already written in class?</p>

<p>well, i’ll figure something out. but, i would like to show consistency in my academic endeavours by discussing the topic of my writing sample in my personal statement.</p>
<p>I have never heard of Gibbons style, but I do know the Chicago Manual Style and MLA is more acceptable in history and other humanities field.</p>
