One of my top gifts every year is the CD compilation my D makes me of the best stuff she finds during the year. Have been in a car a lot the last few days, and loving the soundtrack.
I love the CD D made for us one year and would love any she cares to make for us in the future.
I’m lucky because it’s become a tradition. For a few years, I’d get a midyear summer one for my birthday, too, though not this year because she was in the middle of sad stuff. So the Christmas one is 20 songs long to make up for it. (might be sad stuff again, but she is strong and eternally optimistic.)
I would LOVE that tradition! Maybe will see if we can persuade D to make us one–she plans to be around HI a bit longer.

My DH gave me one-piece PJ’s with an attached hood and zip-off feet. AKA fleece birth control.
Codenames game. I read about it here on CC and bought it. We played it for days! It’s most fun with about six people so it’s been great for Christmas with extra guests. Ordered one for D who fell in love with it.
S bought code names and gave it as a grab bag gift. His cousin who is in his 1st year of med school picked it and hid with it so he could keep it. S was pleased that cousin seems so happy with it.
D1 got H and I a weekend at a AAA, 4 diamond resort in Feb.in the NE. It is an over 100 year old resort hotel on a lake. They have winter events every weekend in Feb.
We always go to someplace warm in the winter. This year it will be Jamica with the same D and her partner. But we also like to just get away from our home at least one weekend in the winter someplace not too far as well. It may still be cold, but it is away. I am looking forward to this weekend as it is a grand old hotel. Hope the weather cooperates and let’s us get there.

D15 bought me a new mailbox for our post and painted it all over in the style of van gogh’s starry night and sunflowers. It is seriously stunning and i can’t wait for the family to install it. I think she could start a hobby/business doing this.

Gift from my 15th month old twin grandsons…an Apple photo calendar. Each month they had photos of them taken from the same month a year ago. There are photos with both H and I in the months when we visited. It also has all the birthdays of each family member marked with their childhood or baby photos and the wedding anniversaries with wedding photos. Mother and Father’s days were also marked by the boys in their “I LOVE Mom/Dad” t shirts. Even St. Patrick’s Day is marked with the boys dressed in Irish soccer jerseys that a friend had bought them.
That was my favorite Xmas present.
DH gave me a camera that will take night time videos of wildlife. Our dog is often waking us up and barking at something outside and I am always curious as to what kind of critter it is. I hope it works!
