I have 24 credits right now, and a gpa of 3.0. If i applied now for spring term, would i be considered for admission, shooting for philosphy or sociology. What gpa do i need to get in, is there a gpa for unconditional admission? Out of state-

There isn’t a GPA for “unconditional admission” but with a 3.0 and 24 credits, you will be admitted.

Thanks for the info. I want to major in philosophy but I’m sure the pre-req’s for that will be just the same as most others.

This is something I wonder as well. AFAIK, all you need for a transfer admission is a 2.0 GPA.

what if i have around 2.4 as of now and will have a 3.0 by the end of fall semester. If im applying for spring will they accept me anyways for the fall?

I think you’ll be fine.

*If im applying for spring will they accept me anyways for the fall? *

??? Do you mean…will they accept me anyways after they see fall semester’s grades?

I think you’ll be fine.

*Admission Requirements for Transfer Students

To be admitted to UA as a transfer student, you must have earned an overall GPA of “C” (2.00 on a 4.00 scale) or higher on all college work attempted. Please note that technical, remedial and vocational classes are not accepted. We do not honor academic bankruptcies or forgiveness policies of other institutions.

If you have fewer than 24 hours of college coursework, you will also need to meet the current freshman admission requirements.*

Will your family pay the OOS costs of Bama?

You’ll like Dr. Wrenn, Dr. Klocksiem, and Dr. Alter for philosophy. :)
