during sophomore year…i think i’m gonna take either AP physics B, AP chem, or AP bio

AP Chem is a junior year course for those who double up (7 periods) in science at my school. idonkno, how does that work out? Did you self study or take a class that offers a foundation in all three subject areas?

Our school:

9th- Honors biology
10th- AP Chem/ H. chem
11th- AP Bio/ H. physics/ AP Chem
12th- AP Physics/ AP Bio

Yes…we can go into AP Chem without any sort of prerequisite class, which is absolutely insane if you didn’t at least take a summer class (I’m in this situation right now, which is why I had a hard time catching up, and now, I’m ill-prepared for the AP exam tomorrow x__x"

Our school/what I’m doing
9th-Bio H (but you take the AP test/Bio H
10th-Physiology H (but they didn’t offer honors my year because of the UCLA cadavers scandal)/AP Chem
11th-AP Chem/AP Physics B
12th-AP Physics B/???

9th - Biology
10th - Chemistry or AP Chemistry (If you want to challenge yourself)
11th / 12th - AP Chemistry or AP Bio or AP Physics or Physics or Anatomy or AP Environmental Science or other science classes like Science Research or crap like that.

(snipez90)

right now i’m takin bio, so during the summer i’m going to take chem

at my school you don’t have to take regular physics to take an AP physics class

Im a sophomore, I have taken AP bio so far. Our school doesn’t have restrictions beyond prequisites for the most part

At my school it’s…
9th: Science 1AC. General science. Lots of people say it was a waste of time, but for me I think it really helped prepare me for…
10th: Chem H (AP can be taken with 1hr/week extra review, since we don’t offer the AP class)
11th: AP Biology
12th: AP Physics (C? I’m not sure…)

6th: Earth Sciences
7th: Life Sciences
8th: Physical Sciences
9th: Molecular Biology H (Normal course: Biology)
10th: Normal Chemistry + AP Physics B (Normal Course: Chemistry, H course: Accelerated Chemistry)

Going to take:

11th: AP Physics C (Both)
12th: AP Chem OR AP Bio OR Both.

You’re “suppose” to take AP Chem after a regular year of chem, but there was a person who went straight to AP Chem this year. Our class is made up mostly of seniors and probably five people are juniors.

9th: Biology or Physical Science
10th: Chem or Conceptual Physics
11th: Trig/alg-based Physics

AP Chem is taken 11th or 12th. Though it’s not a requirement to be a junior, I’ve never heard of a sophomore taking it. Our school only requires 3 years of science, so some don’t take science their senior year. AP Physics starts next year, AP Bio got canceled.

i took ap chem bio and physics b all in my senior year.

ugh jon… how in god’s name did you manage that work load.

well i had a great physics background didnt have to think at all in class. CHem the class was super easy and i prepared for the exam by reading the PR book. BIo well its all memorization.

id say its normally taken Junior year
