I know I said I should stay off this thread but…
So LKF and Pat - let me get this straight…
I know kids at Pitt who hate it there. I know some specific reasons too. You think I should go on the Pitt boards and post what I heard - leaving out any positive stuff since there’s already enough of that to go around on that board?
I should do the same for Cornell too?
Listen, I know it’s a free country and we all get to say whatever we want. I was not the one who deleted (or even suggested the deletion) of that thread. But, come on, I think we have a right to question someone who is posting completely negative items on a school that he/she did not attend.
Especially when some of the surrounding facts are suspect. If someone told you that they live in Pitt - in eastern PA - wouldn’t you question that person’s credibility?
No one said Happy Valley was perfect. We know it’s not. No school is. But we have a right to question the motivations of a poster who spews all the negatives without mentioning any positives. Second hand too…

Id have to agree with toneranger on this one. And besides a lot of the “big school” cons that were said of PSU really werent true…for instance the Prof are not as hard to talk to and get to know as said…as we alwayz stress, all u have to do is go to office hours. All in all the Thread was too negative especially since he doesnt even go to the SCHOOL.

Well, I might be unusual, but I would like to hear anything anybody has to say about a college I am investigating. I think I am capable of determining the validity of the comments and whether it is first hand experience or heresay, whether it is overzealous school spirit or sour grapes. Penn State has good and bad features, as does Pitt. If somebody had something negative to say about Pitt, even if it was second hand, it would be something I would be alert to check on. If my D is interested in Penn State or Pitt or any school, tell me anything and everything! We’ll sort it out and determine what is important to us! ;)

I believe if someone has spent significant time at a school, even if they did not attend it, then they have every right to comment on it. And this Smitty sounds credible, several people have backed up his arguments.

May I please ask why the only posts you have made on CC are on the PSU forum when you didn’t even attend PSU or have a child attending/considering attending PSU?
