Does USC then send you additional stuff?

When do we begin to sign up for classes?

And is there any advantage in submitting your enrollment deposit earlier?

Once you submit your enrollment deposit, you sign up for orientation and begin on your “orientation homework.” Orientation homework is filling out forms and taking placement tests and alcohol education and… and I can’t remember the rest.

You sign up for classes at orientation. You can start looking at the Fall offerings here: [Fall 2010 | Schedule of Classes](302 Found)

There is no advantage to submitting your deposit early, except that you have a wider choice of dates for orientation. If you have commitments over the summer that restrict when you can attend, that is the only reason I can thik of to submit the deposit in advance of the deadline. (BTW, classes will be set aside for all orientation sessions, so there isn’t an advantage to going to an earlier session.)

Is orientation required or encouraged? I think on the site they said “we strongly encourage you to attend…”

thanks for the info alamemom!

is the pre-orientation homework mailed to us, is it all online, or do we have to print it all out?

Also, how can they expect us to choose all of our classes all during orientation, which is around 1 to 2 days…?

Thanks for the link!

I recall the pre-orientation home work being mainly online. I am not certain though - my role in it was to say:

“Be sure to do your pre-orientation homework.”

“Have you done your pre-orientation homework?”

“When are you going to do your pre-orientation homework?”

“Orientation is in two weeks, you NEED to get it done.”

“Orientation is next week, you REALLY need to get it done.”

“We leave for orientation in three days, GET THE PRE-ORIENTATION HOMEWORK DONE!”

“IT IS TEN O’CLOCK THE NIGHT BEFORE ORIENTATION. GET THE #!$#&! PRE-ORIENTATION HOMEWORK DONE RIGHT NOW OR I AM CANCELLING YOUR PHONE, COMPUTER, NETFLICKS AND YOUR ENROLLMENT TO USC!!!”

Oh, um… What was I saying? Oh yes: you should look at the GE requirements and major requirements online, and then at the schedule of courses and make a LONG, flexible list of courses that will fulfill some of those requirements. I will not provide links, 'cause you are smart, capable USC students who can easily find those things on the USC website - good luck!

Get a t shirt?

LMAO @ alamemom. I really think the USC forum would cease to exist if you were to stop posting.

Most likely

I JUST saw your post on FaceBook from this morning… about gave me a heart attack! Grrrrr!

Much apologies alamemom, much apologies! :D
