What happens if you apply late for financial aid (after you get accepeted)?

What happens if you apply late for financial aid (after you get accepeted)?
Its 3/29 and I was wondering how much financial aid i would get if i applied now. My parents income is around 180k.

JESUS CHRIST DUDE. 180k !?!?!?!

I’m leaning towards “you’re most likely not going to get any Fin Aid” but you might get some from the SMART program.

Aside from whether or not you’re likely to get any aid, you need to check with the school and see if they are willing to take an application for financial aid at this late date. They probably have application deadlines for FA that have passed.

You can still file a FAFSA, but at that income you won’t receive any need-based federal aid. There is an unsubsidized Stafford loan available if you file a FAFSA that is not dependent on income.

As mentioned, you can file a FAFSA for consideration for federal funding, but at the $180,000 income level, a Stafford loan is probably what you would be offered from federal funds.

Re: school funds…institutional money…it depends on the school. MOST consider applications that are submitted ON TIME and then late applications. Some don’t consider late applications at all. Some consider late applications in the same way. Call the school and ask.

Also, make sure you know EVERYTHING that the school(s) require. If they require tax documents, Profile, a school form, or whatever…you will have to do ALL of these things for financial aid consideration.

And next year…look at the deadlines for returning students and DO NOT miss the deadline.

Thanks, alamemom for helping me understand there are better things to do with my time than assist a poster who is attempting to run a game on the college admissions and financial aid systems : )
