What happens if you edit Common Application after submission? Can you send different versions?

I’m a little confused about this and want to make sure I don’t mess something up! So I’ve already finished my application to film schools, and in those, my Common App essay (let’s say “Essay A”) talked about film. Now that I’m done with those, I want to apply to other school’s such as UT, but I want to make sure I don’t send the wrong essay. If I change my Common App essay to “Essay B”, will the colleges I’ve already applied to accidentally get “Essay B”? Or will they still have “Essay A” and only UT get “Essay B”? Thank you in advance!

Once you submit your app to colleges, it’s done. You can’t change it. So, the colleges you’ve already applied to will still get Essay A and only UT will get Essay B.

  1. UT uses ApplyTexas.
  2. UT application deadline has passed.
  3. UT requires two essays.

What reality said is correct. Once you submit a common app application, what’s done is done. You can revise your past essays or send different essays to other schools.

You can revise the Common Application in-between submissions to different schools.
