Schools are not going to disadvantage their students in getting internships. They want those kids employed, and will arrange the academic calendar so that internships can start on time June 1st. This is particularly true for schools like Amherst hoping to place many into the IB/MBB pipeline. Students there are acutely aware of the competition for those jobs.
So does everyone really think all these internships will actually happen this summer?? I hope so, but I’m doubtful.
I am sure lots of internships are at risk, as well as permanent jobs that seniors have accepted. I don’t see the travel industry honoring all internship or job offers. Financial industry also.
