E.g. wearing a USC shirt at UCLA, Duke shirt at UNC, etc

What do they do? Would they actually come and harass you, or just stare at you?

wouldn’t surprise me if the harassed you. You attend that school, wearing rival shirts is a dis to that school.

What if you’re just visiting a (girl)friend there? Will they harrass you if they know you’re from the rival school?

Though it would be pretty obvious not to enrage passion with your fashion… it’s like flying a Japanese flag in South Korea…

^ answered your own question. I would advise against it, and wear neutral colors during your visit.

you DON’T wear a dook shirt here at UNC–you would get like…cursed at & maybe spit on? beaten up if you’re an a*hle about it?

i’ve never seen anyone brave enough to do that so i can’t imagine what would happen…

it’s pretty legit to wear other schools’ apparel, though…i wear penn state stuff semi-frequently…but not dook. that’s going too far. haha

The campus immune system rejects you.

You’d get jumped by large groups of athletes from time to time. I would not try wearing a Yale shirt at Harvard or vice versa either.

I went to Duke and remember going down to Franklin ST all the time to party. One time, I had a girl on each arm getting along great…then one of my idiot friends said “hey, …give me a ride back to Duke?”

needless to say…the girls vanished in a blink of an eye…and were replaced by 6 dudes who in no unkind terms suggested I flee back to Durham! lol

^ Lol.

I doubt that anyone would actually spit on you over there–they could get in trouble for harassment.

if i see a friend i make a smartass remark to them if they have a dook or unc shirt.
if its a stranger, nothing more than a dirty look.

I go to school in Ohio (and this isn’t even OSU). Occasionally i wear a Michigan sweatshirt, and have definitely taken some crap for it. I can’t even imagine how bad it would be if i wore it at OSU.

Thanks for teaching me something new! Dook’s an alternative spelling for rival schools.

I guess I don’t have enough school spirit, I certainly wouldn’t do anything to someone who wore a “rival” anything; I also don’t typically tend to pay attention to what people are wearing.

Unfortunately, people here wear Penn State stuff all the time, and most people don’t really care. I do, and definitely give people dirty looks for it.
