What have YOU done?

Just to give people a general sense of what they can do over the summer and what other people have done. Post your productive (or not) summers here!

I’ll start :]

**Freshman Summer/B
Stanford’s EPGY Bioscience course at Beijing
Attending a Stanford Youth Conference
Learning Latin
Trying to finish the novel I’m writing…(not happening…)
Studying for USABO

haha This is probably a lame start since I’m still a freshman and haven’t actually done these things. But EPGY and the conference are already set in stone and the rest will get done by sheer will power. Yea…I’m looking forward to seeing how that turns out… ;)

Summer after freshman year I worked at a Christian camp most of the summer (after spending a few weeks chillin’ like a G). Wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Summer after sophomore year I really didn’t do much. I had a bunch of AP and EX work, read a dozen books, biked and ran 100’s of miles, volunteered a crapload, and did some other fun stuff. Tried to enjoy myself before this horrendous year, haha.

This summer I’m doing more substantial things. I’m going to NJ Boys’ State. After a week break, I’m headed off to NJ Governor’s School of International Studies. Immediately afterward I’m helping with Vacation Bible School at church for a week. Then it’s a week-long family reunion in Delware, followed by a four-day JSA conference at Princeton. And then three weeks of AP work and college apps.

haha. look at the time. dude, you’re gonna be dead by tomorrow. Thank god its memorial day weekend. You’ll get Monday off too.
I’m jealous though. I totally got caught behind the deadlines this year and now I have to fork over money to greedy colleges. I’m still deciding if it’s even worth it.
I’ve heard good stuff about Girls State and Boys State. But I probably won’t apply since I’m planning for a science research track.

I go to bed at 2-3 every night. I then crash one night a week and I’m good to go.

About Girls’ State… idk about that, but Boys’ State is the last week of school, so it doesn’t interfere with most programs.

haha that’s so uncool man. wanna swap lives? according to my calculations you could probably get 3000 hours of community service in with all your extra hours.
If I went to bed at 2-3 every night I’d be braindead. Just be lucky that you’re still alive. jk. I’m just incompetent. If I don’t get 7 hours of sleep in, I don’t funtion. It happens all the time though. My friends always make fun of me because half the time I end up going to school in tshirt and jeans/sweats. And you don’t even want to know how many times I’ve bumped into poles and apologized to them.

If you really want to be a white boy in suburban Jersey, go ahead.

ehhh…when you put it that way…it suddenly loses all its appeal. haha jk. I’ll consider it
I’m gonna go sleep now.
And you, Mr.White boy in Suburban Jersey, should start thinking about crashing too. I don’t want you braindead by tomorrow ;)

love how this convo is between you too only. aha

i am a lifeguard just cuz its easy!!! and you two talking about staying up late till 2-3 in the morning thats a good night for me… i like never sleep because i cant i go to bed at like 4-5 in the morning and dont fall asleep until like 6 and then i get up at 7 to go to school and i still maintain a 4.0… Beat that joshcasto
