What I Love About Voting...

I have a photograph of my husband with one of the Iraqi soldiers he served with. The solider is holding up his pointer finger and it is dyed purple, showing that he voted. The look on his face is of pure pride.

Every time I vote I think of the women who fought so that I could vote and now I think of that Iraqi soldier too. Frankly, I can rarely vote without getting a little teary-eyed.

I brought my 5-year old grandson with me to vote and kept telling him in the car that we were going “voting.” He seemed very enthousiastic and I kept reminding him we were going voting. After I finished sending my ballot through a scanner, I brought him outside to the car.

He turned to me and said, “when are we going voting?” I told him we just did. He asked me, “but i don’t see any water?” :-)
