What if Masterchief and Arbiter applied to Stanford?

<p>Just kidding, Lol. Another chance thread. </p>

<p>I know I shouldn’t do this, but I just can’t help it. I’m a rising senior and I will be applying to Stanford SCEA 2009. Please give me your honest opinion.</p>

<p>SAT I : 2220 (Took test once): 700CR 740W 780M<br>
SAT IIs: 790 Math II, 770 Physics
GPA, Weighted and Unweighted: 3.95UW, 4.5W
Rank: Cuatro Espada!! (4 out of 500) </p>

<p>APs: AP Calc AB (5) AP Physics B (5) AP Biology (5) AP English Lang (4) AP Stats (4) AP Euro Hist (3) :(</p>

<p>Senior Year: AP Chem; AP Calc BC; AP English Lit; AP Comp Sci (Probably self prep. I’m trying to get it approved for my school for next year)</p>

<p>EC: Chess/Board games (2 yrs) , Religous Activities (5 yrs) , Math club (3 yrs)
Chess:

  • Few trophies
  • Member of Peninsula chess center
  • Created chess club at school / Kolty Chess center
  • Created a new board game (Probably apply for patent?)
  • Spend time with Fritz 10 pc program most of the time playing against people
  • rating: around 1300
    Religious Activities:
  • Can read Sanskrit
  • Memorized the Vedas and its meanings
  • Member of special priest group in temple (I’m youngest member)
  • Take private classes through Yhoo! Messenger everyday with teacher at India
    Math club (I was there when first created)
  • Organize math competitions
  • Will inherit presidency next year</p>

<p>Awards:

  • 1st Place Best Engineering Journal at Tech Challenge 2008
  • Betchel Wondercup Semifinalist (2 times qualify)
  • Departmental Awards in Calc and Physics
  • Probably National Merit Commended (208 on PSAT)
  • 2008 COSMOS Alumni Certificate
  • AIME Qualifer
  • National Science Bowl Participant (not really an acheivement I guess)</p>

  • Caltech Signature Award (Hopefully)</p>

School Type: Public, sends a few kids to good schools each year

Hooks: I can desipher the vedas (Is that a hook?); Will be first from family to go to college in USA</p>

<p>I don’t have any Intel awards or anything. No great awards. AP scores are pretty low. Dad went to IIT, but he had cancer and health problems. So, I’m not sure how that would work out.
I’m from a poorly academic school, so some the awards I got were done through self motivation. Same with the participation in the National Science Bowl. I got few people and competed (though we failed miserably).
And I did have an interesting past where I lived at India during my elementary years without my parents. It really did shape me into who I am now. I plan to write that in my essays. </p>

<p>The problem is the same as with any chance forum in the Stanford forum. No one here can tell you what your chances are as many applicants to Stanford are brilliant. You’re on the right track, and just make sure to write amazing essays. With Stanford there’s nothing more I can say than for you to just apply and pray for the best.</p>

<p>Yeah, I understand people. After looking at SCEA results thread, I kinda see how pointless it is. Sorry about that. Sometimes I feel I’m not even qualified to apply after seeing all the terrifying stats, so I wanted input on whether I’m competitive enough to apply. </p>

<p>:P it’s not perverted. it’s mainly just arbiter harassing master chief who is supposedly the “best player in the world.”</p>

<p>Most the voices are done in Microsoft Sam and it’s just plain funny. You’ll see a new way to spell (and a renewed respect for master chief) after you see the subtitles on this machinima. I’d post the link, but I don’t think it’s allowed here. just youtube Arby and Chief Episode 1 or something</p>
