What if our school doesn't have official class ranks?

Should my counselor leave the class rank blank on the Common App if we don’t have “overall” class ranks?

We do have ranks for each subjects. Is my counselor supposed to calculate the overall class rank based on each ranks?(I highly doubt this and hope it’s not the case)

I would say leave it blank or put N/A. Colleges understand that a lot of schools don’t use ranking systems.

She should not calculate a new overall rank that is not already in use. However, if you have a high ranking in a subject, your college counselor can include that information in her letter.

When you look at the percentage of applicants/acceptances with class ranks at a number of schools, it is only about 30%.
