I am thinking ahead to graduation next year, the website for this year says you can’t bring any bags, including purses. That’s fine for my husband, although he tends to put lots of “stuff” in my purse, but what about me? Where am I supposed to put my wallet, phone, lip balm, camera, etc.? I can’t even imagine wearing cargo pants or whatever men like to wear with all those pockets, I was planning on buying a new dress.

Would a wristlet or small clutch bag be allowed?

Yes, same restrictions for son’s graduation. H had to carry his own wallet and keys. I brought a spring jacket with me, then stuff the pockets with my “necessary” things. Camera was allowed. It turned out to be quite chilly that day, so the jacket worked out fine for me.

My husband would become the keeper of my ID/debit (all you need out of your wallet for a short time really), lipstick, and camera. All of these fit into a man’s pant pocket easily.

I like dresses with pockets although you cant generally put things in them.
Is this for college or high school?
Even sporting events or concerts dont ban backpacks, they just search them if they need to.

I would use a string wallet or small clutch.
REI doesnt have the string wallet I use online but it is big enough for cards, folding bills, change, my phone w case & lipbalm.

This is tough for me. My husband won’t hold my stuff, he worries too much. He worries about my purse more than I do. I’m not sure what wristlet is. I was thinking maybe a belt with a little credit card sized pocket? But I can’t really find anything other than fannie pack type stuff and I’m already bulky enough in the waist. I usually don’t wear a belt for that reason.

emeraldkity4 - it’s for college graduation. I’ve actually never been to a college graduation so I have no idea what I’m in for. I’m just going off what the website says.

They probably are trying to ban air horns/weapons without having to single them out.
Ebags has a selection of string & wrist wallets.

Get a small, thin wallet, put your ID and your debit card in there and put it in your pocket. Your camera case should be fine to bring in if it is small, stick your lip balm in there–or just keep it in the car an apply when you get back to the car.

Are they going to allow water bottles? It could be a long afternoon.

Yes water bottles are banned, airhorns, even umbrellas are banned. It says if it rains they will provide rain ponchos. We’re not bringing a car and I currently don’t have pockets in my clothing. But I do like your ideas - I will have buy something with pockets. Lots of big deep pockets :)

This dress comes in several colors, and has side pockets. There are some other cute ones on this site, too.
I’d just carry my phone and camera (one in each pocket if your phone’s camera isn’t enough), make my Dh carry my ID in his wallet, and let it go at that.

Love this one:http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/backyard-feast-dress-in-birds

I see purses are ‘strongly discouraged’ as they will have to search by hand thus slowing down the line. I suspect there will be a lot of purses going in. Nice of them to have the concession stand open for you to spend money on!

My D loves modcloth website, moonchild!

All of the bags on the ebag link I would absolutely consider a purse.

A wristlet to me is something just big enough to put your id/cc and maybe your phone in. Something not much bigger then this, with a wrist strap, not a long strap for your shoulder.

This could probably go in your husbands pocket long enough to get through security and hand back to you.

You could wear a small cross body bag under your sweater/jacket. Like this (there are many sweet options on Etsy) [The Essentials Purse Brown and Pink by KaroDesignsInc on Etsy](http://www.■■■■■■■■/listing/122491295/the-essentials-purse-brown-and-pink?ref=sr_gallery_2&sref=sr_a0c037390375779778a4e05c89ae4e595a24831f81562efc9dc8182aee14dcc0_1366742939_14578673_cross_body&ga_search_query=small+cross+body+bag&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto10&ga_search_type=all)

Like having an extra pocket.

Honestly, if it were me, I would just forget bringing the cell phone (your husband probably will have one on him) and lip balm and would just carry the camera and wallet in my hand (put the camera strap around the wrist and hold the wallet). I know lots of people say that’s an easy way to lose things, but I often carry things in my hands, and I just think it’s easier than searching for special clothing.

sad, sad, sad… we are going to a graduation - in Boston of all places - next week and haven’t gotten the security memo yet.

If we are thinking “TSA” can you put all your purse stuff in a clear ziplock bag? (The new fashion statement: The Ziplock Bag!)

You can also use something like [Amazon.com: Rick Steves Silk Money Belt, Natural, One Size: Clothing](http://www.amazon.com/Rick-Steves-Silk-Money-Natural/dp/B000PWLROQ) which is handy for traveling. Goes under the clothing - easiest to use w/ two piece outfit. Credit card, some cash, the phone. Done. Camera in hand.
