What if you wrote the same essay for every SAT you ever take

You know how on your score report, you can see the actual essay you wrote for the test? What if you basically wrote the same one for every test??? I mean, I love how the SAT prompts are incredibly broad. The 1st time I used Wreck-it-Ralph and Lord of the Flies; I got a 10 (still a 790 for the section).

can I use both these examples again except tweak the wording to fit the prompt when I take it again in October? Or is this sorta like cheating. since collegeboard knows what you previously wrote? I don’t wanna get in trouble if collegeboard sees the similarity between them.

Rather than stick with just those two examples, I would recommend that you broaden your list such that you have a contextual pool of considerable depth to pick from. Because you most likely will not have the same graders for both tests, you could write with the same examples (obviously tweaking the essay to match the topic) and still do fine. Just for reference, I used one universal example consistently in the three SAT’s that I took (only changing the second example) and received a 10 all three times.

You can reuse your examples, but you should tweak your intro/conclusion paragraphs/sentences to the prompt each time. There are some examples you can use consistently like EngineBus said, but you have to tweak your essay to the prompt in order to get a 10-12.
