Creamy potato soup
Sliders with different toppings --blue cheese, arugula, swiss, carmelized red onions, aioli, and so on.
Then my best batch ever of thick ranch fries --make every 10 years --with sour cream or ketchup.
This political year has caused big changes in our eating lives!
Never watch tv while eating except for the olympics. Well–maybe this is the same…
Just wanted to report back that the sous vide steak was awesome! I got an aged ribeye on sale from Whole Foods, so totally lucked out. I let it simmer in the water bath for 2 hours at 131F followed by 2 mins on the grill and it was absolutely perfect medium rare from edge to edge. Super tender and juicy too. Didn’t even have to let it sit and rest for 10 minutes after cooking like I usually do.
I’m a total convert to sous vide steaks now! Next week I’m going to try it out on blackened salmon and poached eggs.
^can you tell us what brand of machine you bought?
I have been wanting to try it!
I am curious about the sous vide as well. Thinking ahead to mother’s day!
@oregon101 @whitepicketfence I’ve been interested in sous vide for a while but prices were always too high. When I saw this one (Anova) on Amazon for only $179 with great reviews I had to give it a try. I’ve only used it twice and so far have been pretty hapy with it. I verified temperature accuracy with my digital candy thermometer and was pretty surprised that they both agreed. I actually thought for sure that one or the other would be off

We do not have dinners on Saturdays, it is our snack day. We always have the same dinners on Sundays. Salmon or steak, spinach on the skillet and sweet potatoes french fries - frozen from Kroger. The dinner takes about 5 min. to do and that is the reason for having the same dinner every Sunday, since I hate cooking. It is also very yummy.
