"What influenced you to apply to X" and "Your specific interest in X" -same question?

<p>How are “What influenced you to apply to IWU?” and “In one paragraph, please describe your specific interest in attending IWU” different prompts? When I think about how to answer either of these questions, I have the same response. Can anyone help me out in determining the difference between these two seemingly similar questions?</p>

<p>I’d say the first one is how you found out about the school. A mailing list? A visit to campus? Friends?</p>

<p>The second one is “Why do you want to go there?”</p>

<p>What influenced you: like you friends, family, etc</p>

<p>In one paragraph, please describe your specific interest in attending IWU: they are talking about their specific schools, like school of natural science, school of engineering, etc</p>
