What is a 70 average In gpa?

What is a 70 average In gpa? Thanks in advance

In most 4.0 GPA systems for each course, here is the value of each mark:

A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0.0

The way you determine A-F is often different from school to school but the one I’ve seen is the following:

A = 85 - 100
A- = 80 - 84
B+ = 75 - 79
B = 70 - 74
B- = 65 - 69
C+ = 60 - 64
C = 55 - 59
D = 50 - 54
F = 0 - 49

If you want more information about different 4.0 GPA formats and different representations of A-F… check out wikipedia page on GPA’s

I’m sorry but I don’t think that’s accurate

It varies tremendously from one system to another and no table from a stranger here can tell you how your system works. If you are international, the A equivalents in your grading system may extend down into the low 80s or even high 70s. A 70 might be a B or even a B+ in an international system.

So how am I supposed to find out?

If your school doesn’t assign letter grades, then there is simply no A, B, C or 4.0 equivalent for your grades. If you are asking this question because you are trying to fill out college apps, you will just leave the GPA sections blank on your applications. That’s not a problem and many international applicants do that for the same reason. Your counselor or whomever fills out the School Form for you will describe your grading system, explain your transcript and put your grades into context for the colleges where you apply.

Wow - there are schools that consider 85-100 an A?

My guess is the OP is an international trying to help his or her counselor parse the School Report form which requires an explanation of the grading scale by providing A-F equivalents. In some international schools scores in the 80s or above are quite rare and scores in the 70s are very strong. It is not uncommon for there to be no A-F equivalents.

If you’re using common app, you can select a 100 pt GPA scale which would be most accurate.

At my school, it’s

90-100 4.0
80-89-3.0
70-79 2.0
<70 0.0
