What is the pre-application and when do you fill it out?

Also, if you know some colleges that use a pre-app, can you list them here?

Thank you!

I know that Wash U has a pre application form. A pre app form (at least for Wash U) just gives them your basic information (name, address, contact) and your intended major (if applicable). Wash U uses it so that you can set up an online file to review what you have sent in so far, etc.

oh, and fill it out and submit it before your actual application. meaning now.

Thanks, guitarboy I’ll be applying to colleges in 2012, so I’ll keep your points in mind.

How do you know if a school requires a pre-app? Is it just posted on its website, or is there some kind of master list online? I tried Google, but not a lot of information came up.

Bump. I’ve never heard of a preapp before. I’m a bit nervous…

at least for me, I just went to the schools’ websites and checked there. I am pretty sure most don’t. Possibility: schools that don’t have their own supplement may have a pre-app instead

I got an email from WUSTL (even though I’m not applying ???) and they said I should fill out a preapp. But do any other colleges use a preapp? I looked at most of the colleges and couldn’t find one.
