what is a "well-dressed" (freshman)?

what stores would you shop at? what kinds of shirts would you wear to class/parties/nights out in the town? pants and shoes? outerwear, blazers? how often would you shop?

If I were building a new college wardrobe, I’d frequent Banana Republic, Gap, H&M, Lands End, LL Bean, Polo…Just develop your own sense of style and you should be good.

Wear what everyone else is wearing and you should be fine, assuming you don’t care about a particular standard (e.g. many wear T-Shirts, and you may not want to wear T-Shirts).

wasnt there a point about a month ago where there were so many of these threads that people started to parody them?

use the search and you will probably find plenty of helpful info

Oxymoron. There aren’t any well-dressed freshman. They make so many faux pas largely due to welcome week and orientation brought to by the school.

heres the same thread that was run into the ground
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/960443-what-will-well-dressed-freshman-guy-wearing-fall.html

I shop everyday at Goodwill. All the clothes have holes in them, but seriously, they’re the best designer clothing out there.

another good place to buy clothes is craigslist. I bought all my underwear from this one dude who was getting rid of them.

what? I washed out all the stains with bleach. They’re all clean as a whistle.

“another good place to buy clothes is craigslist. I bought all my underwear from this one dude who was getting rid of them”

ha i hope they werent used. i cant wear someone else’s underwear, especially someone i dont know

I did the same thing as ISU, although there were some hershey highways still left in the underwear I found it nice for the winter months…kind of like hot chocolate. Mmmmm.

Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle. If you want everyone to know your a freshman, and that you think your well dressed, wear those brands.

trust me

Ha!

Freshmen soon learn that dressing up is for well…freshmen.

Give it a month, two at best…and you’ll be like everyone else and not really care.

Hollister =/= well dressed.

haha i see what you did there

What people consider to be “well dressed” varies by each individual. E.g., I wouldn’t wear most of the clothes mentioned in this thread, even on a “badly dressed” day.

In short, just wear what you consider to be well dressed and whatever fits your personal taste.

guys: suit and tie
girls: undefined

Protip:

Go naked.

Don’t eat that hershey stuff. It’s not hershey. It’s probably mud. For that stuff, you need to let it dry up and then just brush it off. Although, I heard Africans sometimes rub it on to keep the mosquito off.

Oh I didn’t mean eat it, I meant that I left it in there as a nice crusty insulation from the cold.

Guys…

Skinny Jeans(not the super tight ones)
T-Shirts, tight(Ed Hardy,Express, Xions,H &M, Forever 21)
Jordans(any, their all nice)
Maybe a fitted cap

just keep it trim, and slim
