Wondering if B-J would be suitable for me.

I strongly prefer a single room, of which I know there are plenty in B-J.

I’m a rather introverted person who likes to read quietly, and values privacy very highly. I’ll generally want to avoid parties and alcohol, but I like to have people around me having that sort of fun (not excessively, of course) for the feel of college dorm atmosphere (weird, I know).

Would B-J be a good choice for me? Also considering Blackstone and Broadview.

Any of the dorms you mentioned would be suitable for a student with your preferences. I would also suggest looking at Breckinridge and Maclean as well.

Having read your posts, shootastar, I would look into International House after your first year. Very intellectual atmosphere, hosts cool conferences and speeches all the time, a beautiful building, almost all singles, very quiet but with quite a bit of fun as well.

Grace: Thanks for your suggestions. How do the Breckinridge, Maclean, Blackstone, and Broadview compare in terms of student composition (a lot of freshmen or mostly upperclassmen?) and social atmosphere?

phuriku: Great suggestion–just checked out the iHouse and it looks stunning! :)
