One of my children is considering taking a job in Baton Rouge, LA. What is this city like? Is it safe? Are there enough things to do for a person in their early 20’s? Is it easy to head to New Orleans on a weekend night?
Baton Rouge is my hometown and S1’s living there finishing up his engineering rotation year. It’s had a lot of growing pains after Katrina (when half of NOLA moved in overnight), but it’s getting better. Definitely easy to do weekend trips to NOLA. S1 would be happy to live there permanently, but I’m hoping his permanent assignment will be closer to us!
Some of his engr friends (he’s ChemE) have relocated there. All seem to enjoy it. Pm me if you have specific questions!
