What is better?

I am considering two completely different tracks, and I’m conflicted as to which one is better.

So I am thinking about applying to schools like Yale, MIT, Columbia, etc, where I would probably just be another number or just another student despite the wonderful education I would probably get. On top of that, I would have to pay full price, as I don’t qualify for need-based aid and they don’t offer merit scholarships.

My other option if University of Rochester. It is a great school and I feel that I would thrive there. On top of that, I qualify for their IB Scholarships, and according to my brother (who attends U.R.), I may well qualify for a very large sum of money to pay for school. I am also a Bausch and Lomb Award recipient, so if I applied for that I could get another large sum of money.

What do you guys think…? This is a dilemma many people face and I know at the end it’s all down to me, but I’m curious to see all the perspectives.

Apply to all the schools and see where you get in. Sometimes the schools decide for you by not even offering you admission. See if you get into the Ivies before you decide one way or another…it is useless to tell you to go to Columbia if you aren’t even accepted…

Would you be happy at Rochester?
