What is considered a good GPA trend for ivies

first time CCer.

I am a Canadian currently attending grade ten, or sophomore year.
My GPA for last yr was 91 and this yr is approximately 92.
Is my GPA trend good enough to get me into top US school?
I am just freaking out because people around me all get 96s.
If my gpa is not good enough can someone plz tell me the optimal gpa for ivies?

Tnx

You’re on track…remember, you still have another year to boost your GPA before you apply to schools. Besides, grades are important, but they aren’t everything. Make sure you have EC’s, community service, sports, etc. Also, there are plenty of great schools out there outside of the Ivy League. Hope this helps!

In a idealized world, what should my gpa look like in my final year?

Tnx

Well, I’m not as familiar with the 100 scale GPA, as my school goes on a 4.0. The equivalent of where you should be at the end of your junior year is a 3.9 UW, with, ideally, a weighted grade which equates to a 4.0 +, if that makes sense. So probably a 96+, on your scale. But just remember that you also need to factor in ACT/SAT some form of a standardized test score, plus EC’s, etc. Just take the most difficult classes offered to you, work hard, volunteer and stay busy, and you should be in good shape! The Ivies are competitive, and it can be hard to know exactly what they are looking for in candidates- there’s really no magic formula.

Tnx that was very helpful.

Just thought of another problem. I am not a high level english writer and I receive a middle high mark for it. Should I choose honor English which eventually leads me into AP Language Composition, or just stay with regular curriculum so I obtain a higher GPA?

Tnx
