What is McCain thinking!?

Something to think about, considering that McCain’s top foreign policy advisor is Randy Scheunemann:

^ so? It may not happen. He hasn’t even picked a VP yet.

It may not happen–if he’s not elected!

Do read the rest of the article.

McCain hasn’t even picked a VP. He has not put it in stone who is going to be in his cabinet.

McCain doesn’t like Bush or Chaney.

Yes, that’s true. But we need not worry about Bush/Cheney, unless they spring an October or even a December surprise on us. We do need to think about Randy Scheunemann.

Dick Cheny really is The Devil, isn’t he?

“It is not known whether McCain, who is the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, has been formally briefed on the operations in Iran.”

It probably doesn’t matter. If he was, his public utterances suggest that it is not likely that he can remember them.

You would find --I am afraid-- that there are a great many things that I have less than a cursory knowledge of. That’s simply true and I don’t dispute your suggesting it and you are not the first to do so.

If you needed to know how to cut a dovetail joint or build an elaborate library or a boat, I might be the one for the job. In fact, I would be.

For that reason, I don’t tend to take strong positions on all the hot topics here: taxes, medical cures, bed sheets etc.

For instance, I don’t know anything about this much abused 86 year old woman that so many here seem to understand fully --given little more than her age. But given what I know about her --next to nothing-- I would not feel comfortable saying “She’s 86. She’s probably prejudiced as heck.” Doesn’t work for me.

I’d probably assume she is just-alright, lacking evidence to the contrary, even if the odds are against her, as you say.

My Great Grandfather Jolly James (real name) lived in Melvindale Mich. Made it to the eight grade and eventually came by a small bit of land he farmed off Fort Street and Schaefer. One of the main train lines into Detroit went right through his backyard. By the odds-makers above I suppose we’d all assume that he, being from his generation and his economic and educational background was…as has been said, “prejudiced as heck.”

But his dinner table was set for every ‘hobo’ that came through on those tracks. Jump off right there in his backyard. Every race, every age. Some would stay and work; some would thank the family and just move on. I cannot tell you all the stories I’ve heard, from those who knew him, of his selfless good humor and unlimited generosity.

I’ve always tried to live up to that.

Of course, the odds were against him. But by the grace of god he, like this other 86 year old woman, is a person --not a political statistic.

I tend to err on the side of people, not social statistics and political polls. It’s my weakness.

But you are right; there are a great many things that I am not up to scruff on. And I suppose I am getting a little too old to learn them now.

I do, however, always appreciate your view. And you very well may be right here. I just hope not.

.

Mini,
Obama is now talking about going to war with Iran too. He wants to get the Jewish vote.

Obama will say anything to get votes!

You will say anything to bash Obama.

“Obama is now talking about going to war with Iran too. He wants to get the Jewish vote.”

Citation, please. (What I do know is that he will talk to them, he knows that Ahmadinejad is NOT the leader of Iran - especially when it comes to foreign and military policy - and knows that Iran is not arming Al-Qaeda in Iraq, and is especially pleased that the U.S. is propping up a pro-Iranian government.)

Obama has bad mouthed his own Grandma, his former friends and now one of his ipod faves, Ludacris to get votes.

[Obama says Iran should not wait for next U.S. president | Reuters](http://uk.reuters.com/article/burningIssues/idUKLA22129020080726)

And

[Obama said to believe Israel will attack Iran if sanctions fail | The Iranian Threat | Jerusalem Post](<a href=“Satellite News and latest stories | The Jerusalem Post”>Satellite News and latest stories | The Jerusalem Post)
He’ll say anything to get votes. It all depends on the group he’s talking to.

So, now because he says Iran shouldn’t wait for him, he favors going to war with them. And because he thinks Israel will attack them, he favors going to war.

Can’t we have an intelligent conversation?

(NOTE*** - this is NOT a comment on your intelligence. I think you are very intelligent. Which is why I am baffled when you say such things.)

So he should not criticize Ludacris when Ludacris says offensive things?

He is planning to go to Hawaii in mid-August and will visit his grandma who is not under any bus.

John McCain bashed himself to get votes.

Anyway, go ahead and vote for McCain. If he wins it will be your fault and you’ll have no one to blame for when your standard of living decreases. At least we Obama supporters will have the psychological comfort of knowing we didn’t ruin the country–and perhaps the world. (For the record, I’m kidding… kind of.)

He is talking more about Iran than McCain.

On the “What is McCain thinking” front:

The Hiltons, Republicans McCain supporters, are seriously displeased with McCain.

Britney Spear is a Republican. She’s probably none too pleased, either.

Re post 117, that’s because Joe Lieberman is not always at his side to remind him what he’s supposed to say (besides bomb, bomb, bomb…) Also, because he’s been undercut by Bush’s decision to enter into negotiations even though the perception in the Middle East is that the main purpose is to help him rather than to find a solution.

At least with McCain I know what I’m getting. I am disappointed that Hillary did not win! She’s stronger than both Obama and McCain!
