Im new here, sorry for my ignorance.

Univ of Cali?

One of the Cali universities. UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Irvine, etc.

also note that an additional letter is often appended to signify the campus

UCB=Berkley
UCLA=Los Angeles
UCSD=San Diego
UCD=Davis
UCSB=Santa Barbara
UCI=Irvine
UCSC=Santa Cruz
UCR=Riverside
UCM=Merced

Some people use UC to mean University of Chicago as well, but for that they usually put UofC.

It could also mean University of Colorado

ex. UC Boulder

Well, a real Buff would know to say CU Boulder…

you know youre not from california when they call california cali.

Add one to DCforMe’s list:
UCSF=San Francisco (medical school only)
UCB=Berkley
UCLA=Los Angeles
UCSD=San Diego
UCD=Davis
UCSB=Santa Barbara
UCI=Irvine
UCSC=Santa Cruz
UCR=Riverside
UCM=Merced

No. UC is the registered trademark of the state of California.

I thought colleges would not have registered trademark, but some colleges actually do:

whatever… My friends going to University of Colorado at Boulder call it “UC Boulder”

That’s odd…

I used to live in Colorado and everyone always referred to University of Colorado, Boulder as CU Boulder.

When I said UC, most people understood it stood for University of California. The rest simply had no idea. However, nobody said University of Colorado.

Well to me it’s University of Cincinnati
