What Is Meet the Deans?

I signed up to go to the “Meet the Deans” event for students accepted into UIUC’s business college. I thought this event was on campus, but I just saw that it is at the Illini Center in Chicago, not Ubana-Champaign. My parents really wanted to tour campus and see U of I for the first time since I was accepted, so I can’t decide if we should go to the event in Chicago or visit campus tomorrow. I am going on a visit to another college next weekend, so I really want to see campus and be able to compare things I like and dislike from both schools. Would I be missing out on the “Meet the Deans” event if I do not attend? What exactly takes place?

I think you should do both. The Dean event is a great opportunity to meet the people you will work with over the next few years. You have plenty of time to visit the campus before your final decision. Would highly recommend attending an accepted event. We went with DS when he was making final decisions and it was excellent event.

That sounds like a great idea! What was the event like? Is it a presentation by the deans or more of a meet and greet, etc? Also, what would be appropriate to wear? Did students wear professional clothes? Thanks for the info! It’s great hearing from people who went through all of this. :)
