What is my chance at MIT and Upenn?

I got SAT of 1850 (CR 520 M 710 W 620) and 2 SAT II (M-II 800 and Phy 710).
Activities:

 • Work volunteer for “Green pavement” Campaign ( Long term)
 • Volunteer for a tutor program.
 • Volleyball and badminton participant since grade 9
 • Bookworm as little kid.

To be honest it’s a long shot. Definitely apply, but if you don’t get in, make sure to get great grades freshman year and apply as a transfer.

thanks, but it is worth a try right? thanks for advice

Definitely worth a try!

It is a definite stretch…2250 is Penn’s average SAT and MIT’s is probably higher. Worth a try, but I hope you applied to some safety schools and more reasonable reach schools too.

^^ Penn’s is closer to 2180

I dunno OP, those ECs aren’t anything special either. If you want to take the time out of your life to fill out those apps, sure, but your chances are slim to none.

Is it really 2180? I thought the projections for this year were higher than previous years. My parents decided to freak me out by telling me below a 2250 meant I wouldn’t get in because that was the average for my top choices…

Well if its 2180 then an 1800 is still pretty far. I’d aim to get at least above a 2000 and get some better ECs to boost your chances. And write some really good essays!
