Hi
I was wondering what is the average resume for a student in wharton

including extracurriculars, gpas, and SAT scores

thank you

Who knows? My friend’s brother had a 4.0 gpa UW, above 2200 SAT score, competed in numerous national business competitions and won many of them, had awards up the cazoo for his achievements in that field, and was still rejected.

some tips
[What Wharton Wants](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)

reality is that there’s no typical resume for a wharton student. they’re looking for outstanding people who will go on to be very successful in business. work your absolute hardest in school and on standardized tests(take SAT, math level 2, and one other subject test) and AP tests, and give it your best shot.

Top 1-2% of class, 2250 plus and some business related ECs.

would model united nations count as a business related ec?

No, they want to see you engaged with a real business of some sort. Among the usual high school clubs, DECA is related though not impressive unless you did somwthing extraordinary within it.

^ please don’t spread misinformation.

full disclosure i go to wharton. i didn’t have any business EC’s nor did a lot of people here. i mean if you see a good business opportunity then go for it, but that DECA/FBLA bs is more of a mark of wharton rejects than actual wharton students

you definitely need at least one strong interest outside of academics, but being captain of the soccer team is just as valid(and likely more appealing to adcoms) as doing “business ec’s” which are usually absurd

ok! thank u
so i have been part of the FBLA club for by school but due to conflicts with dates I have never been able to participate in a competition
however I have excelled in Model United Nations and also began my own club while in high school
so applying to wharton with a strong GPA and good SAT score but without having strong business related ECs is still advisable?

If you’d like to go there, you should apply. You apply with what you’ve got and hope for the best. Good luck.

I’ve hired Wharton students and grads for 25 years. The top ones I see have had involvement in business activities since high school.

then maybe strong high school business interest/involvement is a mark of the best wharton grads…but it’s by no means an admission requirement

The student wants to know the things she should do to be a strong applicant at Wharton. I would highly advise doing something business related to be the strongest possible applicant. It’s that simple. There are no absolutes in top college admissions.

if you read the “what wharton wants” thing which is an interview with the dean of admissions of wharton, more important than doing something business related is doing something leadership related. then that leadership can later be applied to business. but sure getting involved in business is great but most high schoolers don’t get the opportunity.
