Hey guys, I got a question.

What is the general learning and school envronment like in NYU cas and stern? LAC type discussion based or lectures or…??

Do the administration hold your hand much or are you expected to be independant? etc just general info on school atmosphere

It’s very independent for Stern, and class environment varies greatly by course. There’s Stern classes which are entirely discussion based and ones which are large lectures. School atmosphere… is banking banking banking or accounting accounting accounting. But in terms of environment it really comes down to who you’re friends with.

CAS, at least most of the MAP courses you’ll take, are lectures with recitations. But depending on which CAS electives you take that won’t necessarily be the case.

If you are in Stern, about 90% of the students know where they are going and where they want to be. In CAS, its a bit more relaxed but there really isn’t any hand holding from the admins.
