Hello from Los Angeles! I’m a PhD student at USC in the biomedical sciences and someday when I graduate, I’d love to work at NYU, Columbia, or any of the several other research-hospitals in Manhattan. Assuming I graduate with publications in high-impact journals on my CV, am I competitive with other students from the Eastern seaboard? Basically, how does NYU view USC graduates? I’d really like to know what New Yorkers think of USC. Thanks!!

NYU and USC are, in most respects, peer schools.

Although, I think for research output, NYU is above USC.
