What is reputation?

Is reputation of a school important? Do I need to go to a school with good reputation to work in like Pixar, google, disney, microsoft etc.?

BTW, does anyone know Calvin College?

In theory, it shouldn’t matter at all. But, almost always people associate a good education with a reputable school. And no I havent heard of that college

It’s more how you do in a college than the college itself. However, you may want to look into schools with design departments that will have connections to those companies. The co.s will just want to see that you’re prepared for a job in that industry with your classes and ECs, so go to a school–regardless of overall rep, unless it’s especially known for being a poor school–that will allow you to pursue those things.

And no, I haven’t heard of Calvin.

don’t listen to them. After your actual accomplishments at a school, reputation matters more than everything else and in a lot of cases it can make up for a lack of accomplishments.

What do you want to do at those companies? Once you know the job type, you can look for colleges that may be good in that major/path. The kind of job is important because anyone can work at those companies as a janitor or secretary with no college or high school diploma.
