What is something TOTALLY unique I can do to make me stand out?

I’m a freshman in high school and I suppose for now, my dream school is Columbia University.
I know grades are VERY important and especially SAT/ACT scoring, but I need something totally unique that I can do.
I’m trying out for my golf team but I’m so bad at golf I’m not even sure IF I should even try out (but I am)
I guess if I work VERY hard on my golf game I could make that my unique thing but I need something else.
I’m too young to intern anywhere (I’m 14 turning 15 in August)

Any ideas? All ideas will be appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Just do what you’re passionate about and pursue it to its fullest capacity. Don’t try and find some “unique” activity that you think will impress colleges. And chances are, if you ask someone to think of something unique for you, it’s not unique at all because someone else was able to think of it.

Read this book: How to Be a High School Superstar: A Revolutionary Plan to Get into College by Standing Out (Without Burning Out) by Cal Newport. It will help you think about how to leverage the things you are really interested in into something that can make you stand out. But you have to have the grades and test scores to go with it.

Being yourself.

If you have to ask, then you’ve already lost…
