What is student life like at these schools?

If you could give me some info on student life (good and bad) at any of these schools, that would be awesome:

-Dartmouth
-Swarthmore
-Tufts
-Brown
-McGill
-Columbia
-Carnegie Mellon
-Johns Hopkins
-UMichigan
-Claremont McKenna
-Georgia Tech
-Cornell
-Princeton

I can speak about Hopkins.

Negatives: Most students are very grades-focused here; for them, academics can be a huge source of stress. Because the coursework can also be very time-consuming, many students feel that they don’t have enough of a work-life balance, particularly engineers and pre-med students. A lot of minority students also feel dissatisfied with their experiences here, mainly due to a sense of alienation from faculty and student apathy towards minority issues.

Positives: Hopkins has a diverse array of clubs and research opportunities, and being located in Baltimore, there are plenty of things to do for community service and for leisure. There’s always something happening on campus, whether they’re giveaways, performances, or larger events such as Hoptoberfest, sports games, Lighting of the Quads, and Spring Fair. Though people are naturally reserved, everyone’s pretty nice if you take the initiative to start a conversation or ask for help in a class.

@OnMyWay2013 THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is extremely helpful and eye-opening.
