What is the acceptance rate into EECS at UCB?

<p>Some one posted in a different forum that the acceptance rate at UCB EECS is 6%. Is this true?
What are the chances of my daughter getting in with following stats?
Class: 2009
School: Private prep
Rank: Doesn’t rank
GPA: 4.2W UC GPA ~ 4.35W
APs: 4 in 10th grade all 5; 12 in total by senior year
10th: Chem, Euro history, Calc BC, Comp Science AB
11th: Bio, Physics C, US History, Statistics, English Language
12th: Art History, English Lit
SAT1: 2210 (770M,700CR,740W) 1st try, will retake June
SAT2: 770 Math2c, 780 Chem
PSAT: 226(80M,73CR,73W)
Awards:
NMSF, AP Scholars, JETS, Model UN, Speech, Community Service, NHS,
Research (published a paper)</p>

<p>I doubt it’s 6%. In any case, it has been increasingly less competitive in recent years due to a decline in interested students.</p>

<p>Heck, the CS major was no longer impacted as of last year.</p>

<p>The acceptance rate for EECS, by looking at 2007 data, depends on what you’re really asking for - the acceptance rate for new female freshmen? For total new freshmen?</p>

<p>1883 high school seniors applied for EECS last year, of which 234 were female (and 7 missing data). 50 females were admitted, out of 360 total freshmen admitted for EECS.</p>

<p>So…that’s ~21% acceptance rate for EECS, for new female freshmen.</p>
