Most people will agree that a school like Harvard is one of best universities in the world, but college is more than academics.

In your opinion, what’s the best overall university based on academics, quality of campus, location, surrounding city, partying, sports, weather, diversity, tradition, etc.?

I’m gonna say USC, UCLA, Texas, & Florida in that order.

Best Overall School: Princeton U, easily. Amazing location (I’d know, I live near), great undergraduate education, and amazing ethnic food nearby.

UNC-Chapel Hill. Academically challenging and prestigious; excellent in nearly all athletic programs, beautiful college town, great weather, storied history, and an excellent location.

a school with good academics, competitive sports teams, reasonable cost, a nice college community/town, nice weather, a lot of students.

Honestly, I think the best overall is the University of Virginia. Beautiful campus, exceptional academics, nice weather/college town, and competitive sports team. Even better for in-state students who are getting a ridiculous bargain. I was accepted but could not attend because it was just too expensive for OOS.

In general, I think a respectable public university is the best choice for a true college experience. You will be exposed to all different kinds of people, opportunities, challenges, and will truly be on “your own.”

Undergrad prestige = meaningless. What matters is your motivation and what you do with your opportunities. I know Ivy grads that are unemployed and CC grads who are very well off.
