What is the best way to get experience in chemical engineering w/ no exp at UCSD?

I am interested in majoring in chemical engineering at UCSD. I would liek to get involved with volunteer, internship, or job opportunistic, or activities related to chemical engineering? I noticed on port trition there are alot of jobs are for biochem, chem, or bio majors? However, i do not see any chemical engineering opportunities. What would be the best way to get experience in this field and perhaps land an internship during the school yr or the summer with no experience at all. Volunteer with a professor? Would that help obtain an internship later on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the Chem Eng. faculty listing: [Chemical Engineering Faculty | NanoEngineering](http://nanoengineering.ucsd.edu/fac/cheme-faculty)
Click on the names and read their bios. Find a couple whose research matches your academic interests. Email them and ask them if you can volunteer in their lab. Oftentimes, volunteering can lead to working for class credit or a research position.

a CENG199 (course credit) doesn’t cost anything from the professor’s point of view. they should be willing to give you this the first quarter, assuming you’re doing actual research and not dishwashing or something like that.
